The first product we are introducing from YouKits is the FG-01 a 1 to 60 MHZ Antenna Analyzer. This is not a kit but a fully assembled unit ready for use. The FG-01 utilizes the latest in SMT technology to provide a compact unit with lots of value.
This antenna analyzer is the smallest (measures less than 4“ tall) and easiest antenna analyzer to use on the market today. It has a color display that graphically shows you the SWR and Impedance of the antenna under test. This unit is right at home being carried to the top of the tower or on the bench in your shack.
The FG-01 with its color graphical display allows you to dial in the frequency you wish to operate on and immediately read the SWR and Impedance of the antenna at that frequency. The FG-01 also allows you to easily adjust the frequency to determine the desired SWR points of the antenna. For instance if you wanted to know the 2:1 limits of your antenna you would just change the frequency using the large knob to move the graph to the 2:1 point on the center of the display and read the frequency.
No more guessing where the low SWR point is on your antenna. No more guessing about you antenna characteristics, you just read the SWR and Impedance on the color graphic display or look at the curves to fully understand the characteristics of your antenna.
The FG-01 comes with a wall mounted Lithium battery charger. We suggest you order the optional Lithium battery pack R9411 (18650). The charger provided with the FG-01 will charge the R9411 (18650) Lithium battery. With no battery you can use a quality regulated power supply such as the TEN-TEC model R4005. Batteries are not included for the battery case shipped with the FG-01.
This unit is sold exclusively in the US by TEN-TEC and has a one-year replacement warranty. This unit is not manufactured by TEN-TEC therefore the non TEN-TEC manufactured return policy applies.
Note: The knob on some of the later model units may be chrome or silver instead of black.

I can't add much that others haven't already said. My only nitpicks are that the rechargeable lithium battery is too wide to fit into the case squarely so one has to fiddle with it and turn it slightly on edge to make it fit the enclosure. That is, after discovering the second screw the holds the case together may be found underneath the "made in China" sticker.
The unit does have a nice, solid feel to it, is compact and is very easy to use. That's a good thing as the directions (supplied on a mini CD) are roughly translated from Chinese.
It tells you SWR, impedance and has a nice graphical display of these values. It may not do as many things as other meters (that may cost more) but for my needs it does the job.

I took out of the box and opened it up. Looks like a 3 AA battery holder so I put 3 AA batteries in. Naturally, it didn't work. Since there no included instructions in readable format, I assumed it was defective. Only after going to the website to read the manual (I don't have a CD reader on my computer - those things are becoming obsolete) did I discover that I have to buy some really expensive batteries or the rechargeable battery pack in order to use it. Honestly, I think TenTec and Youkits should do better than that. I don't see any point in selling a product that is not usable out of the box and doesn't even include instructions on what you need to make it usable unless you have a computer with a CD reader in it. A 3" x 5" piece of paper could include the complete set of instructions because it's a simple device.
It's a very nice test tool and does what it says it does and does it very well.

This analyzer has already saved me a lot of headaches when I was tuning my portable antenna. The graph was showing me that the resonance point was way out of whack, and the fact it was shown visually made it obvious. It turned out I had a loading coil tapped incorrectly. It performs exactly as advertised and it has a solid feel to it. Overall, I'm very happy with it!

It does just what it is advertized to do. The ability to see the antenna profile puts it way above the dial and meter analyzers that sell for more.
I am using it to adjust a portable antenna. To see the change in the impedance curve as changes are made in length and elevation is wonderful. You can get a "feel" for the results of changes in real time.
I will never leave home without it.

This product does the job. With the rechargeable battery option and low drain, its perfect. Small screen is easy to read - and you get the 'big' picture! Tune your antenna system perfectly with this pocket-sized wonder.

First the suppiled battery pack will not connect to the unit. So I ordered the rechargeable battery pack. I feel for the price that this should already be included. The analyzer got used for the first time during winter field day. The first antenna I hooked to showed a straight line. At first I feared it did not work however invetigation found a bad coaxial cable we repaired this and it works great. Compared it to an MFJ frequency was just as accurate. I had several comments about it not doing the VHF/UHF bands but I got it to do the ones I check the most HF. My only wish is that it had the ability to memorize a scan and connect to a PC for printing and larger display. If it had this ability it would be a 5 star product.

Well formed steel enclosure - not aluminum....
Fine grain black crackle finish - no fingerprints....
It's hefty with the optional battery pack installed.
The PC board is well fabricated - all surface mount and well done.
The only quality control issue noted is that the front panel silkscreen is just slightly misaligned.
Easy to operate - only two controls and one of those is the ON-OFF slide switch.
The display is only 3 by 3.7 cm, 1.25 by 1.5 inches, but is quite readable; the resolution is good.
The included manual is on a small CD, only five pages printed out.
It's just a bit cryptic, translated from the Chinese, but one can quickly figure it out....
The single knob is a rotary encoder with about 24 steps plus a push button switch for selecting center frequency, scan width, or memory parameters. The center frequency can be tuned in 1MHz, 100, 10, or 1 kHz per step - lots of resolution. The scan width can be set from 50MHz down to 10 kHz. Again, lots of resolution....
There are 10 memories. The factory default sets them for 160 through 6 meters. But they can be used to save any center frequency
and scan width.
Both impedance and SWR curves are displayed.
Just the ticket for tweaking the 4 el SteppIR
and slopers in preparation for FT5ZM.
Frequency scanning/curve drawing analyzers are the only way to go.... You can actually see what is happening when tuning an antenna

I've been using a big, clunky MFJ-259B - even when traveling. It works great but it's 4x bigger than the YouKits analyzer... as big as my KX3!
I'm very impressed with the YouKits analyzer. It's simple to use and works great. I wish that it included a BNC to SO-239 adapter... although I had a couple laying around.
If you travel or like to work portable, this is a great piece of gear!

This thing works great. Easy to use and dead on accurate. The display is sharp and bright. The graphical display is a much better way to see what is going on than other units that just give you single point numerical data. I recommend buying the internal battery pack (don't know why it does not come with that as standard). For the money this one is hard to beat!
