The 417A TITANIII is now discontinued. No new or demo stock remains. 4CX800A/GU74B tubes are no longer available in production quantity. We have no retail stock of extra 4CX800A/GU74B tubes available at this time.
Comments:
Sure hope Ten Tec has plans to replace Titan III amp with another great design. The pair of 30500’s are great but hoping to have just the little extra in pwr. Will sure miss the Titan III.

Can’t figure out why other manufacturer’s… Alpha, Acom, etc. are still producing their amplifiers using these tubes. Perfect opportunity for Ten-Tec to come out with a new solid-state amp in the 1KW PEP output class…. Would be nice if it competed with the Expert 1K-FA.

Other amp manufacturers can’t get them either. There has been a lot of discussion on the Internet about these tubes not being available this year and the retail price has tripled from a year ago.

The Titan series amplifiers are superb amps. I hope to see a new titan amp in the near future, maybe an auto-tune amp.

It’s time for Ten Tec to enter the 21st century with a 1500 watt+ solid state amplifier. Good mosfets are available (ie ARF 1500’s) and the cost shouldn’t be much more than the Titan III was. I also hope Ten Tec would consider placing the RF finals on field replaceable boards like the Elecraft KPA 1500 and KPA 800 prototypes are going to come out with. (Elcraft assured me by phone they will come out, just not sure when) Hopefully You are reading these comments Ten Tec! :) 73.

I bought my Titan III on the premise that cheap replacement tubes would be available for a long time to come (20+ years). I guess that’s out the window… now comes the buying frenzy like other recently-obsolete commodities. -KR4WM

I was considering purchasing this fine amplifier. It is the perfect match for my Orion II. I love what you did with the QSK circuit. I don’t think anyone else does it your way. Please, Ten-Tec, redesign this amplifier and use the Eimac CX1500.

I was going to purchase the Titan III. I’m glad I didn’t. Will wait to see what comes out next

Demise of the Titan III is disappointing news! It was on my Christmas list!

Wow! What a shame! I was looking hard to add it to my Jupiter I got last year. Sure glad I missed out getting “burned” on that deal. At over 80 pounds it is more than just a paperweight! Any idea if Ten Tec will come up with a “new” 1500 watt amp?

Well, I guess Ten Tec may have a surprise or too at Dayton.. HOPEHOPE

I recently purchased the GU74B / 4CX800A7 tubes from http://www.vinecom.co.uk and the purchase was very reasonable in price. Sorry to hear that TenTec did away with the TitanIII because I really like the TenTec gear. My TenTec gear works like a charm.
