The first product we are introducing from YouKits is the FG-01 a 1 to 60 MHZ Antenna Analyzer. This is not a kit but a fully assembled unit ready for use. The FG-01 utilizes the latest in SMT technology to provide a compact unit with lots of value.
This antenna analyzer is the smallest (measures less than 4“ tall) and easiest antenna analyzer to use on the market today. It has a color display that graphically shows you the SWR and Impedance of the antenna under test. This unit is right at home being carried to the top of the tower or on the bench in your shack.
The FG-01 with its color graphical display allows you to dial in the frequency you wish to operate on and immediately read the SWR and Impedance of the antenna at that frequency. The FG-01 also allows you to easily adjust the frequency to determine the desired SWR points of the antenna. For instance if you wanted to know the 2:1 limits of your antenna you would just change the frequency using the large knob to move the graph to the 2:1 point on the center of the display and read the frequency.
No more guessing where the low SWR point is on your antenna. No more guessing about you antenna characteristics, you just read the SWR and Impedance on the color graphic display or look at the curves to fully understand the characteristics of your antenna.
The FG-01 comes with a wall mounted Lithium battery charger. We suggest you order the optional Lithium battery pack R9411 (18650). The charger provided with the FG-01 will charge the R9411 (18650) Lithium battery. With no battery you can use a quality regulated power supply such as the TEN-TEC model R4005. Batteries are not included for the battery case shipped with the FG-01.
This unit is sold exclusively in the US by TEN-TEC and has a one-year replacement warranty. This unit is not manufactured by TEN-TEC therefore the non TEN-TEC manufactured return policy applies.
Note: The knob on some of the later model units may be chrome or silver instead of black.

I have used another antenna analizer, but this is sweet, small and handy. It is simple to use and a well designed, useful tool for any Ham. I consider it a great tool.

As others have noted, this is a great product that does an excellent job. Until it quits after your warranty is out, then Ten-Tec doesn't service them, just "throw it in a box to go back to China, don't know how long or what it will cost". So, $250 down the drain. Buyer beware!

After 6 trips to various California and Arizona Desert Campouts plus local trips to the beach, the FG-01 has performed flawlessly allowing me to rapidly deploy my various HF antennas and switch bands then retune in seconds. The bright color LCD does not wash out in bright light like my iPhone. I am using my own Lithium batteries and the supplied charger without problems. Yes, like any antenna analyzer it will pick up strong EMI/RFI but it worked fine at Quartzfest and Yuma Hamfest where there were many stations on the air.
An improvement could be made to rapidly set the center frequency but its not a problem as-is and the BNC is not a problem because I use a high quality pig tail with SMA adapters.
Battery life is longer than I thought it would be, 1 charge worked for 5 days at Quartzfest and 2-1/2 days operating at Yuma Hamfest.
I'd like to see a robust and small carrying case with just enough space for the charger and a coax pigtail.

Power supply delivered with FG-01 causes noisy signal to be shown on the lower HF frecuencies, changed to a linear power supply and I get a smooth curve.

I use a FG-01 almost every weekend and learn a lot about tuning my wire antennas.
What really needs a revision by the manufacturer, is the fact that the FG-01 gets very warm in relative short time. This forces me to wait till it cools off to a reasonable temp.

I had an issue with my FG-01 failing hours after first use, replacement was received, and now I am back up and running. It was kind of like teasing me into wanting more. The unit works as described, and it does it well. As an Electronics Engineer I was ready to design my own device, but with the cost of the FG-01 being so low, I decided to purchase one and give it a try.
I was surprised to find the FG-01 easy to use and the display give me all of the information I need to tune my various antennas. Within 5 minutes I was able to retune a random length wire antenna to tune away from the Ham bands which allows my auto-tuner to optimize the operational bands. The antenna was tuned in the 40m band and I was not getting good performance in the 80-20-10m bands, now it tunes all four bands well.
Now to build a variable length wire antenna and get it up in the air.
Thank You Ten-Tec! 73

Technology has come a long way since 1956 as KN1APA when I tried an antenna and if it did not work well I did not know why and then tried another one.
This got my PAR EndFed adjusted accurately and quickly.
I made one change to the unit. Since it is heavy, small and easy to drop I attached a couple of foam rubber strips to the side to provide a better grip.

I purchased an FG-01 at Dayton and couldn't be more pleased. It is small, accurate and the features are amazing. I have owned several MFJ Analyzers and this one is far superior. Get one, you'll be happy you did

I ordered one of these at Dayton 2012 and just got around to trying it out yesterday. Talk about an easy device to operate right out of the box without needing to read the manual :) It appears to be a strong case and has quality feeling controls. The fit & finish is perfect. Looks like my '259B will be sitting on the shelf for now on :)

I recently purchased one of these analyzers to help in tuning a 4-band trapped vertical antenna. I figured this would take a lot of back and forth to get tuned up. Using this analyzer really helped and I mean alot! It is very easy to use right out of the box, and as I had purchased the battery pack, which arrived charged, I was able to get to work on my antenna very quickly. Although not manufactured by Ten Tec, it is a very good complementary item for their standard line. With the Ten Tec gear I have I find that it is not all the buttons nor really what is inside but how well it works and keeps working. Very satisfied, would recommend this tool.
