The Model 1225 is a full featured wattmeter, utilizing a cross needle meter allowing simultaneous display of forward power, reflected power and SWR. Full scale ranges of 20 watts, 200 watts and 2000 watts make it ideal for all hams, from QRP enthusiasts to high power contesters. Both peak and average power measurements can be made and are independently selectable for both forward and reflected power readings. This allows the operator to simultaneously monitor the performance of both the transmitter and antenna system. A tri-color backlight is included which allows the user to adjust the color of the meter illumination. This is a kit which will take about 10 hours to build.

I just finished building this wonderful kit.
I'm a novice builder with only one other kit under my belt. I built a Kendricks Scout Regen receiver.
The kit went together in about 10 hours of work for me. No mistakes. I just went slow and wanted it to work the first time! It fired up just fine without any glitches. I just can't tell you how much fun it was to build.
I use this with a Ten-Tec Orion II at the moment but plan to have it as the "real" meter for my Ten-Tec Eagle when I get one soon. It's working great between my Orion and a AL-811H. It's nice to know exactly how much your driving the amp with.
Next up is a Elecraft K1. More to follow!

I bought this kit to get a good cross meter to better monitor swr and efficiently tune my antennas. I use a Jupiter xcvr into a Titan amp into a 229 tuner. I use a beam on my tower in addition to a ground mounted vertical and a trap dipole antenna. The meter on the 229 tuner is ok but not as good as I wanted. I experience changing swr as I QRO and need a big visual indication of swr in order to protect my equipment. This meter fills the need.
The kit was easy to assemble using a decent soldering iron. All parts were there and bagged in sub assemblies so I didn't have to search forever for a tiny part. Circuit boards are bright quality and easy to place parts on. There is one toroid to wind and I had no difficulty winding it and installing it using the given parts. The wires supplied are small gauge and I wished I had a better wire stripper for small wire but I managed with what I had. Best of all, I was able to easily use the internal calibration circuit to adjust the 2kw range. I was also able to easily use my Jupiters meter to adjust the 20 watt and the 200 watt scale. Assembly and calibration took me two evenings. I look forward to my next kit from Ten Tec!

Very nice easy to built kit. Clear step by step instruction manual. It took me about 3 evenings to build.
Attractive black metal case. High quality, large easy to read cross needle meter. Selection of different meter backlight colors. It works like a champ. 20W-200W-2KW with peak and average settings. Using the factory calibration its accuracy compared well to my Bird Watt meter. It gives you however more information than the Bird meter as the cross needle meter gives instant SWR reading. Great for tuning antenna tuners and amps.
The meter includes a small power supply. I find it a very complete easy to built great working essential piece of equipment. Ten-Tec has another winner. Highly recommended if you are in the market for a HF wattmeter that does it all.
