Broadband, untuned RF preamp. 50 ohm input, 50 ohm output. THIS one is your best buy! Excellent noise figure, gain and frequency coverage at a BUDGET PRICE. Up to 18.5 dB gain at 100 MHz. 17 dB gain typical at 500 MHz. Supply voltage: 8-14 VDC. We recommend (undrilled, no holes) enclosure TPx-13 for this item. Order TP-13 for unpainted aluminum, TPB-13 for black, TPC-13 for charcoal. See bottom of page to add enclosure to cart.

You supply the connectors, good board layout. Good quality circuit board, upgraded if. Don't forget the coil which was in the addendum! The amp added no noise to my sdr. I used an outboard 9 volt power cube. Short wave signals showed the most improvement.

I purchased this kit about a year ago, time to write a review. First, the kit is 13 dollars so don't compare it to a 200 dollar unit. This kit was very easy to build, I use it for QRP and SDR.
The amplification from this unit, while on my receivers for QRP, is highly noticeable, it does a fine job of increasing the signal. Using my SoftRock Lite with WINRAD, I can have displayed on my computer a waterfall with one or two signals, turn on the Ten-Tec Amp an 10 more or what ever is active is displayed on the waterfall. I was surprised, a 13 dollar unit does so well.
It is worth the price, even it it was 25 dollars it would be worth it. Again, I was surprised how well it worked. If you have a SDR receiver, buy this, you won't be disappointed, you will see the results in the waterfall.

I did not fully understand which was pin #3. The chip had a white dot but also had a "1" - so guess what - I think installed it backwards. I have ordered another chip on Amazon - hope to have better luck next time.
